Upavistha Konasana

Wide-angle seated forward bend, is the rather clumsy-sounding English translation of this pose. The next step along is Kurmasana, tortoise or turtle pose, but we're not going there right now.

I am not going to teach you how to do this pose today, it's just a cover photo for this blog post I am writing. However, if anyone out there does want step-by-step instructions, please send me a message and I will comply.

Those of you who've been following my blog since the start will know that I am not very techie and that although I aim to publish one video or article every Sunday, I often fail. You also know that although I am a fully qualified yoga teacher, this blog is just a hobby, which is why you sometimes have to wait 10 days for another post, or suddenly get 2 in a row. I have a lot of other commitments, so making time is sometimes difficult, and finding someone to record me when it's not possible to do a selfie is also complicated.

Anyway, I'm waffling (what a surprise)... the point of this post is to let you know that although I will try very hard to post something every week, you may have to be patient. I am going under the knife as you read this (or at least, I should be. The operation is scheduled for approximately 12:30 - 13:00, so I've scheduled publication for 12:30, but naturally the doctors could not guarantee the exact time as I am the second patient tomorrow, so it all depends on how long the first operation lasts). It's not major surgery, but I will need to take time off to recover, so if I do manage to post anything, it'll either be pranayama exercises, meditation tips, or very gentle poses. Please send me your positive vibes, and hopefully I'll be back online soon.

Bye for now xx

It's funny that I started this blog/vlog in the middle of the first COVID-19 lockdown, and in fact entitled it "Yoga in the times of Covid-19", just over two years ago. My intention at the time was to
